NBC pulls the plug on the Heads Up Poker Championship

Oct 14, 2011 at 4:38 pm in Latest Poker News by George

NBC has decided to pull the plug on the National Heads Up Poker Championship. According to WickedChops Poker, which first broke the story, the show may return in the future. Most likely, if and when US poker legislation is passed.

Lately most poker TV shows seem to be falling, but hopefully the show will return soon. Losing poker TV shows will not help grow the game as it has in the past with the Moneymaker craze, and more.

The show was very successful in it’s 7-year run, but the ratings aren’t there for NBC to continue playing the episodes. We hope that the tournament/coverage returns, always great action in televised heads up play.

Greetings from Colorado! I’m bored to death at work so I decided to check out your site on my iphone during lunch break. I love the info you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m shocked at how fast your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, excellent site!
