Bankrupt Epic Poker leaves a pile of debt behind.

Epic Poker, the league that quickly gained exposure and plenty of reviews and excitement filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on February 28th, 2011. Epic Poker’s parent company is the Federated Sports and Gaming company, who’s executive chairman, Jeffery Pollack released a short statement on their website stating, “Out company needs a new start. This reorganization filing is an important first step in that direction.”

After the DOJ shut down the major players in US poker, television stations have dramatically cut back on poker shows, and advertisements. This is understandable, because there are no big US poker rooms with million dollar advertising budgets to shell out money to advertise on various poker programs. (Well, they might, but they won’t due to DOJ pressure and waiting for regulation and taxation of online poker).

Steve Wynn unveils plans for Casino in Massachusetts

Steve Wynn, the Las Vegas Casino owner, broke the news recently that he is proposing a new Massachusetts casino, right near the Patriot’s Gillette Stadium. Wynn sent out a 20 minute DVD to residents near the proposed casino, as reported by a friend of Bluffaway who recieved the DVD in Mass.

The 6th Annual World Series of Poker Europe will be held from September 21 through October 4, 2012 in Cannes, France at the Hôtel Majestic Barrière.

Is Erick Lindgren broke or just a scumbag?

The latest from the online poker world, Erick Lindgren is broke. Well, Bluffaway can’t confirm if the former FullTiltPoker pro is actually broke, but various poker forums, news sources, and professional poker players have recently displayed a sketchy string of unpaid debts.

Erick was a FullTiltPoker pro, being paid (this figure is an estimate) $250,000/month to play as a FullTiltPoker pro. Reports say that his spending habits were out of control, and that when FultTiltPoker went down, his cash flow stopped.  [read more →]

Eastern Maine College offers Poker Dealer Course

According to the Bangor Daily News, Eastern Maine Community College is now offering courses in Poker and Table Game Dealing. Students can now complete the course and recieve training to help them get a dealing job at local casinos, and future poker rooms in the area.
